AHAM tests and certifies home appliances, including room air conditioners, dehumidifiers and room air cleaners.  Since 1967, we've used independent labs to test products, and then provide participating manufacturers with a seal to be used on product packaging, making certified products easier for you to recognize.

Manufacturers voluntarily participate in the AHAM certification programs.  AHAM uses an independent lab and standardized test procedures, developed by AHAM and accepted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).   An independent laboratory regularly performs verification testing of certified products, to be sure that the products still perform at the certified levels.  Only products that are tested and verified may use the AHAM seal and be listed in AHAM’s product directories.
