Facilities
The ARC Board of
Directors authorizes all research projects and
establishes Technical Advisory Committees (TAC)
as necessary to oversee specific projects. A
Refrigerant Technical Advisory Committee was
very active in ARC's early years, investigating
alternative refrigerants for use in
refrigerator-freezers and room air
conditioners. Currently, an Insulation TAC is
overseeing projects related to polyurethane
foam insulation used in
refrigerator-freezers. Research work is
accomplished in members' facilities,
universities, or government or private
laboratories as necessary.
Participants/Suppliers
The
Appliance Research Consortium is organized so
that interested suppliers of components,
products, or services can participate in
Consortium projects and contribute their
technical expertise.
